“Welcome to our fire pit. Where friends and marshmallows get toasted at the same time.”
One of my favorite things to do is have a nice fire and sit outside enjoying friends and family. Add s’mores and I don’t think life could get any better! S’mores are my addiction. You can find me on hot summer days (when it is too hot to have a fire outside) inside toasting a marshmallow on the stove. lol. Yes, that’s me. Anyway, I thought this would be a perfect addition to our fire pit. I hope you like it too.
What you will need:
- Shadow box with glass
- All purpose paints or wood paints
- Paint brushes
- Glass paints or vinyl
- S’mores kit
What to do:
- Take the glass out of the shadow box so it is easier to paint without getting paint on the glass.
2. Paint the shadow box. I started with the back. I don’t think it really matters, I just felt it was easier to hold the sides while I painted.
There is a trick to painting wood or furniture. If you do not want streaks, brush marks or drips. Load your brush up and get the area painted as fast as you can. Before it dries lightly go with the grain across the entire surface. From one edge to the other without lifting the brush.
I used a big flat chiseled brush to make it easier to get into the edges. And to paint more of a surface area at one time.
I wanted an even smooth finish so I put two coats on it.
5. S’mores time! Gather your s’mores kit and add them to the box. Place them in a way so you can see everything nicely.
And there you have it! Your very own S’mores emergency kit!
