“My grandma once told me life’s greatest treasure was like a fruit at the end of a branch. You had to be willing to climb to the tip of the branch to get it. The key, she said, was to surround yourself with people who will catch you should you fall.”
I read this quote many many years ago and I wish I could find who it was by because they deserve so much credit.
It is very true when they say “the people around you will shape your life”. There have been moments in my life where I have had both types of friends. Ones that lift you up and ones that tear you down. I am not saying it is easy to walk away from friends, even the ones that tear you down, but step back for a second and reevaluate where you would like to be in 5 years. Do those friends have the same dreams? If not, walk away. It might be hard, but it will be worth it.
When you lose sight of your dreams, what makes you truly happy, you will lose so much of who you are and the worse thing that can happen to you is looking back on your life and having regrets.
